The Droppah Mobile App

Written by Tusca Howes

The Droppah mobile app is the central hub for your team. From viewing upcoming shifts to managing live rosters, the app adapts based on your specific user permissions.

Download the App

Available for download from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Search for Droppah or click the following link.

Access via Web Browser

If you don't have the app installed, you can still access the mobile experience by signing into Droppah via your mobile browser. When your device screen width is less than 500px, Droppah will automatically load the mobile-optimised view.

One App, Two Experiences

All users log in using the same app, but what you see depends on your access level.

1. Employee View

For team members with "Employee" only access, you can:

  • View your upcoming roster and team schedules.

  • Request time off.

  • Submit cover requests to swap shifts with coworkers.

  • View your historic timesheets and clock-in timelines.

  • Message teammates directly via Team Chat.

2. Manager & Admin View

For those with Manager or Admin permissions, the app provides a streamlined version of the desktop experience, allowing you to handle essential operations on the go. You can:

  • Roster Management: Create, edit, and publish rosters directly from your phone.

  • Live Time Tracking: Start and stop clocks for your team members.

Note: Unlike the shared Tablet Time Clock, the mobile app manager view does not require a photo to be taken when starting or stopping a clock.

  • Timesheets: Review, edit and approve timesheets for Payroll.

  • Approvals: Quickly approve or decline time off requests and cover requests.

  • Team Chat: Send direct messages and create group chats with anyone on your team via Team Chat.

  • Add Employees: Add new employees to your account on the go — no need to jump to a desktop first. See below for details.

Switching Views

If you have both employee and manager/admin access (for example, a Team Leader who also works shifts), you don't need two accounts. You can easily swipe between the "Employee" view and the "Manager" view to manage your own shifts or oversee your team.

When you have the option to switch between views, you will see two small dots below the navigation bar:

  • Swipe the navigation bar from left to right to switch to the Employee view.

  • Swipe the navigation bar right to left to return to the Manager view.

Adding Employees on Mobile

Admins and managers can add new employees directly from the mobile app. Tap People from the navigation menu, then tap New Person to get started.

You can fill in the basics on mobile including name, display name, email, and phone. If you'd like to set up pay rates, work groups, or weekly availability, those are best handled from the desktop version once the employee has been created.

You can also send an invite to the Droppah app from this screen, so your new employee can get set up straight away.

Notifications

The app will send you push notifications to keep you updated, based on your role. Make sure notifications are enabled on your device so you don't miss anything.

Managers and Admins receive a push notification when:

  • A team member submits a Time Off request.

  • A team member submits a Cover Request.

Tapping the notification takes you straight to the request so you can review and respond. This is in addition to the email notification you'll also receive. Learn more here: Who Receives Time Off and Cover Requests?

Employees receive push notifications for roster updates and cover request status changes. Learn more here: Employee Mobile App

Everyone receives a push notification when a new Team Chat message comes in. Learn more here: Group Chats and Messaging

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a new login for the mobile app? No. You can use your existing Droppah email and password. If you haven't been invited yet, please contact your account administrator.

Is the manager functionality the same as the desktop version? The mobile app is a "reduced" version focused on high-frequency tasks (rostering, clocks, and approvals). For complex settings, integrations, or detailed reporting, we recommend using the desktop web version.

Does the mobile app replace the Time Clock app? While managers can start/stop clocks on the mobile app, we recommend the Droppah Time Clock app for your on-site shared device to prevent your team from gaining access to edit the roster.

What if I don't see the "two dots" to switch views? If the dots are missing, it means your account hasn't been granted both sets of permissions yet. To fix this, you must be invited to whichever role you are missing (Employee or Manager/Admin). The invitation must be sent to the same email address you currently use to log in.

What if I need the full desktop features while on my phone? If you are accessing Droppah via a mobile web browser, you have the flexibility to switch. Simply open the menu, and you will see an option to Switch to Desktop View. This is useful if you need to access advanced settings or reporting that aren't included in the streamlined mobile view.
