Group Chats and Messaging

Learn how to message your team directly within Droppah on mobile and desktop.

Written by Gina Murphy

Droppah Chats lets everyone in your company message each other directly within Droppah — no need to jump between apps to coordinate your team. Admins, managers, and employees can all send direct messages or create group chats on both mobile and desktop.

Getting Started

To use Droppah Chats on mobile, make sure everyone in your team has the latest version of the Droppah app installed. Check for updates in the App Store or Google Play Store. They'll also need to enable push notifications for Droppah on their device; otherwise, they won't be notified of new messages.

You can access Droppah Chats via the chat icon in the top right corner of the app on both mobile and desktop.

Starting a Direct Message

To message someone directly:

  1. Click or tap the chat icon in the top right corner.

  2. Click or tap New Chat.

  3. Search for and select the person you'd like to message.

  4. Type your message and hit send.

You can message anyone in your company — admins, managers, and employees alike. This works the same way on both mobile and desktop.

Creating a Group Chat

To start a group conversation:

  1. Click or tap the chat icon in the top right corner.

  2. Click or tap New Chat.

  3. Select multiple people to add them to the group.

  4. Type your message and hit send.

There's no limit on the number of people you can include in a group chat, and group chats can be created from both mobile and desktop.

To view group chat members or shared files, open the chat and tap or click the chat details. From there, you can see everyone in the conversation and any files that have been shared.

Notifications

You'll receive a push notification on mobile when you get a new message. Make sure push notifications are enabled for Droppah on your device to stay on top of your conversations.

Muting a Chat

If you don't want to be notified about new messages in a particular conversation, you can mute it. Open the chat, tap or click the chat details, and select Mute. You'll stay in the conversation and can still read messages, but you won't receive push notifications for it. To start getting notifications again, open the chat details and select Unmute.

Privacy

Messages are private — only the people included in a conversation can see its contents. Admins do not have visibility of conversations they aren't part of.
