Fill Empty Shifts & New Roster Plans | 03/09/2026

Available from the 3rd of September 2026

What's New?

New way to build Roster Plans – Roster Plans are now simpler to build, no shifts needed. Add a specific person to a shift so they're always on it, or leave it as an Empty shift to be filled later. See Roster Plans for Smart Roster.

Paste a Plan (replaces Smart Roster) – Load a saved plan straight onto any week as your starting point. Previously, Smart Roster built and filled a roster in one step, now pasting and filling are two separate actions. Find it under Paste Plan… in the options menu, or as a one-click suggestion on the roster tab when the week's empty.

Fill Empty Shifts – Automatically assigning people to a roster isn't tied to Roster Plans anymore. Use Fill Empty Shifts… in the options menu to automatically assign available people to empty shifts, whether they came from a pasted plan, a copied week, or one you added by hand yourself. See Fill Empty Shifts.

Save a Roster as a Plan – You can now save any of your rosters as a new plan from Save Roster as Plan… in the options menu, making it easy to use it again next time.

Droppah Connector for Claude (available since 17 Aug 2026) – Connect Claude to your Droppah account and ask it questions about your rosters, timesheets and revenue in plain English, or hand it a report you already use and have it rebuild that same layout with live data. See Using the Droppah Connector for Claude and Ask Claude to Match Your Existing Report Format.

Improvements

Smart suggestions on your calendar – On the roster tab, Droppah now suggests the most useful next action for the week: Paste plan and Copy last week for an empty week, Fill X gaps and Save as plan once the week's underway. Everything it suggests is also always available in the options menu.

Last Used Date on Plans – The Roster Plans list now shows when each plan was last used, so it's easy to spot ones that have gone stale and clean them up.

Clear Empty Shifts – New option in the options menu to remove just a week's unassigned shifts without touching anyone already rostered. Clear Roster still clears everything.

Hide Individual Shift End Times (available since 19 Aug 2026) – Hide a shift's end time straight from the roster with the eye icon next to the end time, no need to set it up in a shift template first.

Easier Roster Break Entry (available since 27 Aug 2026) – When creating or editing a rostered shift, the break field now offers quick options for no break, 30 minutes, and a custom HH:MM box for anything else.

Fixes

Work Group Selection – Fixed a bug that could let you continue to picking a person without a Work Group selected, causing the shift to fail to save.

Custom Shift Time Entry – Fixed a bug that could freeze the page and stop a timesheet from saving.
