Rockstar shifts let admins and team managers pull in one-off cover from another Team when their main crew is short-staffed.
Adding a rockstar
Rockstars are added through an empty shift. (If you don't already have one sitting on your roster for the Work Group that needs cover, add one, see Empty Shifts for help adding one.)
Click into the empty shift.
When choosing a person, use the Team selector to switch to another team.
Choose your rockstar from that team's available people.
Rockstars will appear with a yellow star icon beside their name in the Roster view:
As well as in the Resources and Timesheet views:
Frequently Asked Questions
Which employees from other teams can I choose from?
Which employees from other teams can I choose from?
The employees that are available to choose from will follow the same logic as if you were rostering someone from your own team, meaning they must:
Be assigned to the Work Group that you're rostering
Not have any scheduled Time Off for the date/time you're rostering
Be available for that day according to the weekly availability set in their record via the People tab
When will rockstars appear on the time clock?
When will rockstars appear on the time clock?
People who are rostered onto rockstar shifts will show up on the clock page 1 hour before the start of their shift so that they are able to clock themselves in for their rockstar shift.
If you need to call a rockstar in earlier than your originally planned, make sure you edit the start time of the shift and republish the roster so they can clock in.
Can I still add a rockstar the old way?
Can I still add a rockstar the old way?
If your company can still switch to the Shift-grouped Roster view, you can add a rockstar there too: click into a shift, then change the Team dropdown at the top of the Available People list. See Legacy Shift Roster View for more on that option.
