Build your first roster in 3* easy steps

Create your first roster in Droppah: add your team, assign work groups, set shifts, and go live.

Just getting started? Welcome aboard. Here’s how to build your first roster in Droppah without breaking a sweat. Three* steps. Zero stress. Let’s go.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 1. Add Your People

Head to the Calendar screen and start adding your crew (or Quick Add from the People section). Names are all you need to kick things off, but chuck in their email addresses too if you want them to get their rosters (kind of important).

💡 Tip: You can head to the People tab later to add the juicy stuff and really get Droppah humming.

🚨 Cheat Code for Later: Quick Add a few people for now. But if you’re using Xero Payroll (Australia) or PayHero (New Zealand), you can load all your employees in one go when you’re ready. Magic.

🛠️ 2. Assign Them to Work Groups

Work Groups = what your people actually do. Think: barista, front of house, chef, back of house - whatever makes your biz tick.

Add each person to all the groups they could work in, not just their main gig. That way, you’ve got max flexibility when it’s time to roster like a boss.

⏰ 3. Set Up Your Shifts

Now it’s time to map out the usual start and finish times your team works. These are your Shift templates - your go-to time blocks.

No need to go full spreadsheet wizard here. Just pop in your regulars. You can tweak them on the fly later when you’re building the roster.

Think of this one as the victory lap - it's the fun part.

✨ 4. Build and Publish Your Roster

Head to the Roster tab in the Calendar, pick the week you want to build, and start slotting in shifts.

Happy with how it looks? Hit Publish to send it out into the world. Staff get notified via email (or the mobile app if you invite them in). Boom, done.
