Work groups are the areas in the business or particular roles that people are rostered to work e.g. Front of house, duty manager. By adding people to a work group they can then be automatically rostered on to work in that particular area or role.
Each employee needs at least one work group in order to be included in your rosters, and to use the Time Clock.
You can view and create work groups via Manage > Work Groups.
Click an existing work group to edit it, or click New Work Group to create a new one.
When creating or editing a work group you can apply the following settings:
Work Group Name - Specify a name for the work group. This should make it clear to your managers and employees what the employee is being rostered on for.
Work Group Colour - Select a colour to apply to this work group. This will be displayed in your rosters to help see at a glance what everyone is working on.
Strict Start - When ticked, employees who clock in early will have their start times snapped to the rostered start time rather than recorded as their actual clock in time.
Strict End - When ticked, employees who clock out late will have their end time snapped to the rostered end time rather than recorded as their actual clock out time.
Default Unpaid Break Duration - If desired, you can specify an unpaid break duration which should be automatically applied to time entries if an employee clocks in when they aren't rostered and doesn't use the Start Break function to record a break.
Xero Pay Item / PayHero Work - An additional field will be displayed if your account is integrated with Xero or PayHero for payroll. Select the appropriate option from the dropdown for your time to be sent to payroll.
Higher Duty Rate - If you have a set rate employees should be paid for performing this type of work, you can specify it here. If the specified rate is higher than the employee's rate it will be automatically applied when they perform this task.
Overtime Ruleset - If there's a specific set of overtime rules that should apply only when employees perform this type of work, you can specify the ruleset here. Learn more about setting up rulesets here: Overtime Rulesets
People - You can click + People to add employees to the work group, so they can be rostered on for this type of work. Alternatively, you can add work groups separately to employees in the People tab.
